Last week at ISKL our PRPJ (preschool) students had their learning celebration, and I was very excited to see their work. They were focused on learning about plants and gardening this semester, studying a variety of topics. Teacher Hannah Chandler explains about the learning that went on this year, “The exhibit demonstrates what happens when we hold a strong image of the child (believing that children are capable and competent) even at early ages. Big open-ended questions inspired opportunities for deep learning and deep thinking through a variety of connected hands-on, relevant, and meaningful experiences.”
It was a heartwarming surprise to see how much of the work the students decided to display was created with me in the makerspace. A huge thanks to PRPJ teachers Yvonne Ng, Jasmine Teh, Hannah Chandler, & Zach Al Moreno for including making into their class activities.
