Getting Started With Google

3 Aug 2013

This week at school was new teacher orientation. An important part of the orientation is to provide our new teachers with “technology survival skills” so they can get through the first couple of weeks. We are a Google apps school, so we needed to make sure the teachers knew how to use the most basic features provided by Google. The teachers worked at their own pace to complete the tasks listed on the handout (below) and received a stamp on the square when the task was completed. On the back of the handout was an explanation of how to complete each task, in the likelihood that someone did not know how to complete the task. Ben Summerton & I & several people roamed the room helping teachers with any questions and stamping for completion.

When the teachers left the activity they knew how to do the Google basics they need for the first week of school, and have a guide with instructions in case they forget.
